Make 2021 A Massive Success

You’ve heard the ‘New year, new me’ B.S. from everyone you went to high school with to your annoying coworkers and everyone else in between. You know most of these resolutions will dissolve long before they are achieved.. But why? This is why.

Warning: Only read further if you want to *finally* achieve your goals for next year.

Instead of making a flimsy New Years Resolution, make a vision board that will motivate you to continue working toward your dreams Every. Single. Day.  It’s been shown through multiple studies that the human brain is capable of achieving any goal (yes, making $100 million dollars or losing that belly pooch) with the proper tools.

Start with what your goals are and why. Start with making a list of things you want, and experiences you want to have if money/health/time were unlimited. I like to make each of my lists about 100 items long so that I have a clear idea of what I need to do in the next 12 months so that I can achieve those things.

Let your mind run wild on this one because there are NO LIMITS to what you can achieve!

Because our brains respond best to visual images, a vision board is the perfect motivation for your goals. Gather some photos that represent your goals (ie: increased fitness=sport/activity/goal image, new car=the specific car you want etc…). Spend A LOT of time doing this, you’ll thank me later.

Right now my vision board [below] has photos of the next two houses I want, the vacation home I want, the car (interior, exterior & birds eye view) that I want, strong and healthy women, the short term rental we’re working towards, the ADU we’re working towards, the venue for our vow renewal and the hotel room for our honeymoon.

P.S. I did NOT take any of these photos, they are not my property and I would love to give credit to those that did however they were not labeled. Bottom Line, these are not my photos- just my inspiration. Thank you to all the artists who make these images possible.

Think back to when you were a kid, your teachers probably got pretty creative to help you learn your subject.  They probably asked you how a cow sounds, how it feels, how it smells, where it lives, while you were looking at a picture of a cow to help you remember what a cow is, right? And now, you know without question that a cow lives in a pasture, it says ‘moo’ and it smells less than pleasant.

Your brain needs to visualize and feel these things with all of your senses in order to make it happen. Afterall, how will you know you achieved something if you don’t know what you’re trying to achieve? This brain activity is called visualizing with the 5 senses.

Now you get to do the fun part… Set yourself up in an environment where your mind can really run wild. Think about the images you’ve found…

How will you feel when you have that?

How does your body feel?

What are you wearing?

What is the time of day is it?

What time of year is it?

Where are you?

What do you feel?

What is the temperature?

What sounds do you hear?

What do you smell?

Who is around you?

Now that you know what you want, what image represents that and how to put yourself into the very moment you achieve that… repeat daily until it’s achieved!

Some of my 2020 vision board success have been… Renting our first home with monthly CASHFLOW, Buying our Townhome, Reading 12 books in 12 months, improving physical fitness, a simple and perfect (pandemic) wedding and building our team up.

Vision boards are 100% worth it and so much fun to create!
